"On the House"  Bicycles, 3 Seater Canoe, Boat Moorage Our Bicycle Fleet: Bicycling is a very common form of local non-foot transporation. The Peninsula is flat, making biking easy. Our fleet of newish bicycles now numbers 6 bikes, including four 26-inch and two 24-inch coasters. Most have attached baskets for transport of needed groceries. Decked Out House Main house guests are supplied with 6 bikes. For those renting one floor or the studio suite, two bikes are privided. Why make a point of just bikes? Simple: In the village bicycle rental is expensive. Of course there are other accommodations that offer complimentary bikes. They tend to be located further north and away from the village and are more pricey, usually resorts. Canoe: The house canoe is perfect for exploring the mangrove lined lagoon canals, the sea's coastline, and/or for fishing for your dinner. One might try paddling to Yoli's, the Sugar Reef or Placancia Caye, where one will be able to enjoy a cocktail. Our pastel purple canoe has three seats and three metal paddles. It is stable and made of sturdy fiberglass. Life jackets are provided, and required. Boat Moorage: Placencia does not have a public overnight moorage area. Those with boats usually anchor offshore and dingy to non-secured areas of shore. Decked Out House guests may moor at its dock. Games: Vacations often are a chance to just enjoy being with the kids, family or friends. Thus the house is stocked with board games, cards, poker chips and Belize's favorite table game, dominos. The variety ranges from Candy Land to chess. Also there are planted quiz questions around the house that invite the children (and adults) to hunt for answers.
